Lincoln Memorial Law School Graduation Portraits in Washington DC - Marco

Classic Lincoln Memorial Law School Graduation Portraits in Washington DC

I felt SO honored and excited when Marco told me that he was flying in all the way from Syracuse University to do his Law School Graduation photos with me in Washington DC. He felt that it made sense for him to choose Washington DC for his graduation portraits since he wants to relocate here once he graduates law school and work in public policy. Marco was also just super excited to celebrate graduating law school ( as he should be, HUGE milestone y’all!) and wanted to have his portraits taken to celebrate.

The Lincoln Memorial in my opinion is the perfect location in DC for law students to get their graduation portraits done. Not only does it have the classic and quintessential Washington DC look but it provides multiple backdrops for clean and professional looking portraits which is great for my law school grads because a lot of them usually end up using their portraits from their graduation photos for headshots for their LinkedIn and the organizations they go to work for after graduation.

For Marco’s outfits for his session, he went with a sharp looking grey blazer and khaki pants for his primary outfit and he brought his cap and gown for a few shots. His primary look was professional and sharp looking without being too “stuffy”. I find that having a look like this says you are professional but also really warm and welcoming is perfect for my law students who use these photos for professional usage as well.

I also love when like Marco, my seniors bring their cap and gown as well. There is a lot of versatility in shots with a cap and gown because you can wear the whole ensemble or bits and pieces of it. Hot tip I give all my seniors prior to our shoot... Make sure you know how to put on your hood properly and you know the correct side to put your tassel on in so everything looks consistent and sharp in in graduation photos. I recommend looking up a video on youtube for your specific school. Plus, as a graduate I absolutely insist that if you have your cap and gown that we MUST get that iconic shot of your throwing your cap.

Congratulations to Marco on graduating this spring! I am so excited to see him thrive in the Washington DC public policy scene!
