Rainy Wedding at The Middleburg Barn
Can I just start off by saying I was SO happy for Amanda and Ginny to finally have their wedding day? They had been waiting for quite some time since they were a COVID couple and between a change in plans with their venue and their photographer they were very eager to get married.
Amanda and Ginny got married at The Middleburg Barn in Middleburg, Virginia. Even though weather wise it was heavy rain all day, it didn’t deter anyone from having an amazing time. It was seriously the most fun wedding day I have every photographed in my career. Here were my favorite parts of their day….
Ginny as a surprise for her first look with Amanda played A Whole New World on the trumpet and had the wedding party join her on kazoos. Amanda had the absolute best reaction and was super excited that Ginny was FINALLY playing a love song for her on the trumpet (something she had asked for over the years).
Speaking of music, another thing that I absolutely adored was during the ceremony, 2 of Amanda and Ginny’s friends sang Somewhere Over the Rainbow and played ukulele. There was not a dry eye in the room and I even shed a tear behind my camera.
Instead of doing a traditional flower toss, Amanda and Ginny opted to do a t-shirt toss. Ginny designed and made a bunch of t-shirts with hers and Amanda’s pet dog and parrot on them that they tossed out to their guests which was so fun! Also both of them really got into the toss and some of the candids I captured were top tier!
On the topic of Ginny being making t-shirts, she also made the majority of the decor at the wedding which was SUPER impressive. Ginny is an art teacher by day and she made all their flower arrangements (which were made out of wood by the way but looked just like really flowers) and always made these cute puffin name tags for their guests to commemorate their love for Puffins.
Overall Amanda and Ginny’s day was absolutely perfect in every way and I am so happy they finally got to make things officially in front of their loved ones!
